Vote For Natalie Joaquin

My Bio

I’m running because I really love Kane County, and I think we’re at an important point in its future. We’re growing, housing is getting more expensive, families are feeling stretched, and we’re making major decisions about development, infrastructure, farmland and our natural resources. I want to help make sure we’re growing thoughtfully and investing wisely, while protecting the character of Kane County that people value. I’m not interested in bringing national partisan politics into county government. I’m interested in solving problems, listening to people with different perspectives, and making decisions based on what will actually make Kane County stronger for the next generation. four pillars: Affordability: Can working families, seniors and younger generations afford to stay here? Smart economic growth: Are we attracting businesses, investment and good-paying jobs that strengthen the tax base without creating costs residents ultimately have to absorb? Responsible government: Are we spending effectively, planning long-term, measuring results and making government understandable and accessible? Land, water & quality of life: Can we accommodate growth while preserving farmland, managing water and flooding, protecting open space and maintaining the character of our communities? —— I don’t expect someone to trust me because of a political party or because I tell them they should. I want to earn it. I’ve built businesses and worked in agriculture, but I’ve also spent a lot of time bringing together people from government, universities, nonprofits, businesses and communities who don’t always see things the same way. That’s probably what I would bring most to the County Board. I’m curious, I ask a lot of questions, I look at the numbers, and I’m willing to change my mind when the facts tell me something different. People aren’t always going to agree with my vote. But they’ll know why I made it, they’ll know I listened, and they’ll know I’m willing to be accountable for it.

My Key Issues

Affordability

Kane County is a place people want to stay — but staying is getting harder. Housing costs are rising, property taxes are among the highest in the nation, and working families, seniors, and younger generations are feeling the squeeze. Kelly believes every budget decision, every zoning vote, and every land use choice has to be filtered through one question: can the people who built this community afford to remain in it?

Smart Economic Growth

Growth is coming to Kane County whether we plan for it or not. Kelly believes the difference between growth that strengthens a community and growth that strains it comes down to leadership and foresight. She is committed to attracting businesses, investment, and good-paying jobs that expand the tax base without creating hidden costs that residents ultimately absorb. Smart growth means asking not just what we are gaining today but what we are committing to for the next twenty years.

Responsible Government

Your county board should be easy to understand, easy to access, and easy to hold accountable. Kelly believes government works best when it spends effectively, plans long-term, measures its results, and communicates openly with the people it serves. She will not make a vote she cannot explain, and she will not spend a dollar she cannot justify. Residents deserve to know exactly how their money is being used and exactly why decisions are being made on their behalf.

Land, Water and Quality of Life

What makes Kane County worth fighting for is not just its economy — it is its character. The farmland, the open space, the waterways, the small town feel that exists even as the suburbs grow closer. Kelly is committed to accommodating growth while preserving the things that make this place home. That means protecting farmland from unnecessary development, managing water and flooding responsibly, and making sure the decisions we make today do not permanently alter the landscape future generations inherit.
